As you may notice, this is not the same old SPARC club website. Here are some highlights:
- Active Site for an Active Club: Posts on activities are now accessible from the front page of the site. This makes our website more representative of how active we are as a club.
- WordPress Engine: Rather than building an old-school static html site, we opted for a more up-to-date look, with the ability to change graphics easily, add posts and content quickly, and to share the burdens of building a first-class website across multiple volunteers.
- Calendar: We added an active calendar for club events and activities right on the front page. This uses Google calendar, and will help us coordinate activities.
- Searchable Archives: On the right hand side of the site, we have categories listed for the archived posts, as well as a search bar. As we continue to add posts and photos for club activities, this will ensure we can still navigate efficiently. Pro Tip: Run your callsign through the archive search engine.
- Resources Organized: We took some time to make site navigation a little more intuitive. One of the key features is a cleaner menu, which features a well organized “Resources” tab. We even added a page to remember Fritz.
We hope you enjoy the new website. Also, please send a note via the “Contact Us” page if you see something that needs to be fixed.
Awesome! The old one was what I designed some 20 years ago using Microsoft Frontpage. It was long over due for a new design. Thank you.
